Beautiful Heart Shaped Flowers of Dicentra spectabilis

Have you ever wished you had a checklist of stuff to do each month in your garden? When I was a new gardener, I really could have used some checklist help! As a seasoned gardener, I have a running checklist in my head all the time. Beginning in 2017, our monthly tips page will be in a checklist format! But even better than that, we've created a printable version for you to download!! The online Tips version will still have all the links to videos and more detailed information but the printable version will have space for your own gardening notes and a special challenge each month.

We're always thinking of you and ways to encourage you in your gardening endeavors! We hope you enjoy our new format and welcome your feedback!

    What to SHOP for . . .
Checkbox Bulbs and Tubers - Begonia, Canna, Crocosmia, Dicentra spectabilis, Gladiolus, Liatrus. Buy your spring planted, summer flowering bulbs now for best selection. Choose bulbs that are heavy for their size and free of blemishes. If you're looking for a specific color or flower type buy dahlia tubers now. If you want a large dahlia as soon as you plant it, buy the plant later. You can also plant more than one tuber of Dahlia in one hole to get a bigger plant in its first year.
    Tasks to do . . .
Checkbox Dormant Spray - Peaches, Ornamental Peaches, and Nectarines one last time before bud break.
Checkbox Prune - Buddleja (Butterfly Bush), Berberis, Roses, Fuchsias, Erigeron, Nepeta, Veronica.
Checkbox Trap Gophers and Moles - Watch The Gardening Tutor How to Trap Gophers and Moles video on our YouTube channel.
Checkbox Bait - for snails, slugs, sowbugs and earwigs, especially around winter blooming plants.
Checkbox Sharpen Pruners - Keeping your hand pruners clean and sharp is important for making clean cuts instead of crushing stems. Plus, a well working pruner is easier on your hand.
Checkbox Clean tools and lightly oil wooden handles - Keeping gardening tools clean helps them last longer. Clean tools before putting away. There is so much more to know about tools - How to Choose Tools, how to use tools and how to sharpen tools. Get ready for the season, make your consultation appointment with Mary today.
