ABOUT THE GARDENING TUTOR
The Gardening Tutor knows that gardens can be exciting places and are an integral part of your home and entertaining life. Gardens can also provide solace and serenity when you need a place to reflect. Mary Frost is The Gardening Tutor and has been gardening for over 19 years. In 2001, while waiting for her arm to heal from an injury, Mary decided to take an ornamental grasses class at the Santa Rosa Junior College. A real passion for learning more about horticulture grabbed Mary during the very first class. Four years later, Mary graduated with highest honors and a degree in Landscape Management from Santa Rosa Junior College. Today Mary comes to your garden as The Gardening Tutor ready to work alongside you as she teaches you about horticulture. You may want The Gardening Tutor to return on a weekly or monthly basis for a while or perhaps once each season until you are confident in your own gardening ability.
INTENTION
What I do is completely different than anyone else in the area. We are fortunate in Sonoma County to have many qualified landscape professionals but not everyone has a passion for teaching. I started The Gardening Tutor because I would see people install their own garden or hire a landscaping firm to install their garden and six months later the plants looked unhappy. I knew that people simply did not have the education to know what to do for each plant. I have a passion for teaching! I bring the classroom to you, teaching as you and I work alongside each other in your garden or while nursery shopping. My intention is to build your confidence for creating and/or maintaining your own garden.
